Harold Jackson VC (31 May 1892 – 24 August 1918) was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He was 25 years old, and a sergeant in the 7th (S) Battalion, The East Yorkshire Regiment, British Army during the First World War when he performed an act of bravery for which he was awarded the Victoria Cross. Jackson was born 31 May 1892 to Thomas and Mary Ann Jackson from Boston, Lincolnshire.〔(Jackson, Harold ), Commonwealth War Graves Commission〕 During the First World War, his act of bravery on 22 March 1918 at Hermies, France earned him the Victoria Cross.
